ABDUL QADIRCHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Abdul Qadir started work as a civil structural draughtsman in Brunei in 1988 and moved to Peninsular Malaysia in 1994. He started his career in the Oil & Gas and Power Generation industries 26 years ago. Among the companies he worked for were SAMSUNG ENGINEERING, MITSUBISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES and PETRONAS. Some of his roles and responsibilities included project management, quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC), project planning, implementing catch-up plans to adhere to schedules and he was also involved in engineering drawings verification and approval for construction.

He served in the PETRONAS Melaka refinery for 11 years. He was the Senior Infrastructure Engineer of the refinery. He was responsible for Plant verification of structural integrity for steel structures, Concrete structures and Plant buildings which also included road and drainage & underground facilities. He carried out assessments and generated reports for repairs or upgrading works as required under safety requirements. As a tender board member, he reviewed tender packages that were submitted to Petronas management. He was also the Public Liaison officer for Petronas Melaka refinery dealing with  government bodies, surrounding schools and housing associations. His area of expertise was maintenance of the terminal and jetty areas which were under the purview of Sungai Udang Port Authority, Melaka.

The various operational activities he has accomplished over 26 years in the Oil and Gas industry have given him the required experience and skillset to oversee and manage Petroleap’s operations. His experience in engaging with the local port authorities and logistics companies operating within the Petronas ecosystem has made him the perfect candidate to ensure ship to ship transfer of cargo process is carried out safely and successfully.
