Ramesh’s 20 plus year experience in the IT Industry is varied, starting at Mesiniaga (IBM) as a desktop specialist in the early 90s to running his own software development and services business.
In Mesiniaga, his ability in mastering desktop applications made it possible to produce complex & high-quality desktop publications for various requirements. These documents were used as part of Government tender submissions and other internal publications. In this role, one had to be very well versed in managing images, OCR, and desktop publishing techniques.
The next natural progression was to be a trainer. Armed with little experience, mastery of softwares’ and being a natural in front of a crowd, he landed a role with SHRDC – Selangor Human Resources Development Centre where he spent 3 years training staff from various MNC’s in the state. He also pioneered a mobile lab concept in the 90s, where he would load 16 laptops, manuals and a projector into his car, drive all over West Malaysia conducting training for Sime Darby executives in Palm Oil Estates and Mills. He also spent 6 weeks in a remote part of Sandakan, Sabah training staff there and helping create Lotus 123 analysis spread sheets to keep track of palm bunches being harvested and milled into crude palm oil.
The next step in the journey was becoming a consultant where he joined Solution6 and then MYOB where he was the project manager for the implementation of Financial Enterprise solutions for PWC, 4 KPMG’s offices in Asia and 70 law firms across Malaysia. His role was to engage end users, documenting requirements, configuring the software, roll out, train, and test the solution for user acceptance. This role took across Asia spending much of his career in countries like Indonesia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam.
In 2013, his dream to own and operate an IT business was realized. His company provided solutions for Audit and Accounting firms in Asia. He sold, consulted, and supported over 120 firms in the region. In time he ventured into software development where an automated and autonomous data processing software was developed to produce desired outputs for management. These robot softwares were such a hit that several large corporations engaged his services to develop similar customized solutions for them.
The various roles and responsibilities carried over 20 years resulted in making him an experienced IT personnel with knowledge gained in many facets of the IT world. These days
